Overview
Freedom In Education (FIE), a nonprofit organization dedicated to parental rights, curriculum reform, and civic education, is recruiting a Grant Research and Writing Fellow. This part-time, remote fellowship is a unique opportunity for early-career professionals passionate about education reform and nonprofit fundraising.
Role Summary
The Grant Fellow will play a key role in FIE’s development efforts by researching and securing funding opportunities through grants. Working around 10–15 hours per week, fellows will support the mission of expanding transparency, raising academic standards, and empowering families in education.
Key Responsibilities
- Research grant opportunities and maintain an updated grant tracker
- Prepare and submit 15–20 applications or LOIs each month
- Draft high-quality proposals, reports, and donor communication materials
- Coordinate with leadership on fundraising strategies
- Utilize platforms such as Virtuous, Instrumentl, or similar CRM systems
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Excellent writing, research, and organizational abilities
- Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising and CRM platforms
- Strong communication skills and independence in remote work
- A genuine interest in education reform and nonprofit growth
