About the Program

The OIST Research Internship Program offers undergraduate and master’s students the opportunity to gain advanced research experience at a world-leading interdisciplinary graduate school. Interns work closely with OIST faculty members and fully integrate into their research groups, gaining exposure to real-world scientific projects and lab operations.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be in the final two years of a bachelor’s degree or enrolled in a master’s program.
  • Have recently graduated with a BSc or MSc (within one year).
  • Demonstrate academic readiness aligned with the OIST faculty unit applied to.
  • Obtain approval from their home institution (if currently enrolled).
  • Note: PhD students or graduates are not eligible.
